Altiplano red complexion will be a Tibetan gift to me

“It seems that Tibet has a kind of magic that makes me never forget it,” said Liu Lixin. Several days ago, Liu, a 24-year-old girl, began her trip to aid Tibet.

As a major in tourism management, she graduated from the Zhejiang Business Technology Institute. “When I was in senior middle school, I was yearning for Tibet. As soon as I knew that aid-Tibet guides would be selected, I applied for the quota,” she said.

Since 2003, China National Tourism Administration has selected 100 excellent guides from the key travel agencies in the hinterland to aid Tibet during the peak season for tourism in Beijing (April 15-October 15). There is only one quota for Zhejiang Province every year. English guide Liu Lixin beat other candidates this year.

“My parents hate to part with me mainly because they worry that my work pressure will be great and are greatly concerned about my health after I get to the snow plateau. However, they said they respect my own choice. My elder brother is also in favor of me,” Liu said.

Several days ago, Liu Li xin set her foot on the snow plateau.

“It is strikingly beautiful. As soon as I set foot on the plateau, I was shocked by its magnificence and beauty. The local people are very enthusiastic. I made some preparations before departure. My altitude sickness is not so serious as I imagined. Only the local food varies greatly from that in the hinterland. I am adapting to it slowly,” Liu said, “A centralized training is given in the first week to the aid-Tibet guides from around the country to let us know better the tourism in Tibet.”

Liu said this will be a wonderful and precious experience in her life. “In the place nearest to the sky, everything is clear and bright. Even the Altiplano red complexion will be a Tibetan gift to me, the most fashionable one.”
