Tibet mountaineering convention to launch ski sports

The 14th Tibet Mountaineering Convention will be held in early October. On the occasion, mountaineers are expected to climb the snow-cappedQizi Peak with an altitude of 6,206 meters. Ski sports will also be launched at an altitude of 5,000 meters during the event this year.

According to the mountaineering team of Tibet Autonomous Region, this Mountaineering Convention will last for one week. Mountaineers’ training will be arranged at an altitude of 5,200 meters, and the target will be the top of Qizi Peak if conditions permit.

Being part of western Nyainqentanglha Mountain Range, Qizi Peak is of moderate difficulty for climbing and suitable for junior climbers.
