Exhibitions revealing the essence of world Buddhist culture open in Ningbo

Three themed exhibitions were open on Oct. 15 in the Maitreya Museum at the ongoing sixth World Buddhist Forum in the coastal city of Ningbo, east China's Zhejiang Province, provide a visual feast of fine cultural relics, original paintings and calligraphic works, multimedia images, grotto reproduction, and interactive installations to visitors, showing the essence of the world Buddhist culture in an all-round and multi-dimensional way.

On show are Buddhist statues and sculptures from different periods of time, architectural models, digital reconstructions and 3D-printed models of murals, which display the course of the integration of Buddhism with Chinese culture after its entry into China.

The exhibition is one of major activities during the forum. First launched in 2006, the triennial forum has successfully organized five editions, and evolved into the largest and most influential multilateral platform for international Buddhist-related exchange and dialogue initiated by China.
