100 million yuan invested for wetland restoration in Aba

According to the Forestry Bureau of Aba Tibetan-Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, the prefectural government plans to invest 100 million yuan (16.1 million US dollars) within the year to restart wetland test sites in Zogye and Hongyuan counties.
The sites in Zogye and Hongyuan will be invested with 60 million yuan (9.7 million US dollars) and 40 million yuan (6.4 million US dollars) respectively. They are mainly located inside the Jiuqu Yellow River Wetland Park in Zogye and the Gachu Wetland Park in Hongyuan.
The programs will focus on filling ditches, regenerating wetlands, desertification-control, water-elevation for lakes, wetland pollution control and sanitation, wetland management and maintenance, etc., in addition, wetland tourism will be promoted in a bid to improve the income of local farmers and herdsmen.
