Vegetable garden at the food of Mt. Qomolangma

The high altitude of Mt. Qomolangma not only creates beautiful scenery, but also brings a harsh environment where plants can barely survive.

However, police from the Border Police Station of the Tibet Autonomous Region Shigatse Border Management Detachment have been stationed here all year round. They work hard and are self-reliant, and they have planted a vegetable garden at the foot of Mt. Qomolangma.

“Unexpectedly, we can still see fresh green vegetables and fruits at the foot of Mt. Qomolangma,” Mr. Liu, a tourist from the inland, said. He had walked into the Border Patrol Station at the food of Mt. Qomolangma by chance and saw the greenhouse in the courtyard, and he became curious. Glancing at the door, he was shocked to see a shed full of vegetables and fruits. “When not on duty, we like to go to the greenhouse. Although the air circulation inside is not very good, and the temperature is a bit high, we can see greenery here, and it makes us very happy,” Zheng Jinsong, a policeman with the Border Patrol Station, said.
