Nine-day cleaning campaign on Mount Qomolangma kicks off in Tibet

People collect wastes at the north slope of the Mount Qomolangma in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, May 8, 2017. The nine-day cleaning campaign kicked off on May 6, targeting on campsites at altitudes between 5,200 and 6,500 meters. Wastes are mainly made up of oxygen cylinders, cans, bottles, plastics, discarded tents and climbing ropes left by mountaineers. (Xinhua/Awang Zhaxi)
