Tibetan people "worship water" for good luck

Tibetan people in Bazangcounty, Gannan Tibetan autonomous prefecture in Gansu province held the annual water worshiping activity on June 9 to pray for happiness and celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, Xinhua reported.

The Tibetan ethnic custom of worshipping water takes place on May 5 in the Chinese lunar calendar every year.

Tibetan people climb up the Angrang Mountain which is 3,000 meters above the sea level, to pray around a waterfall, and scatter colored paper which symbolizes good luck, and the activity is believed to bring about wellbeing and good fortune.
