Tourism and cultural festival held in Shannan

Mount Ku Lagangri, located in the Luozha County, Shannan City, is known as one of the four "holy mountains" in middle and east of Tibet. On Aug1., a tourism and cultural festival named after the mountain was held to spread the local culture and promotes its tourism.

Because of its special location, Luozha is known as the secret land in southern Tibet. The tourism and cultural festival, formerly known as a goods and culture exchange expo held Aug 1-5 every year was upgraded, and this year marks the 33th, according to Baima Dorje, deputy secretary and county chief of Luozha.,

Luozha, meaning "big cliff in the south" in the Tibetan language, is one of Tibet's border towns located in the south slope of the Himalaya Mountains and borders the Kingdom of Bhutan. The Luozhuo Wolong Monastery, former residence of the master translator Marpa, as well as the Samkhar Guthok Monastery, whose construction is supervised by eminent monk Milarepa, student of Marpa, etc, are located there.
