Reading during holiday becomes fashionable in Lhasa

Major bookstores and libraries in Lhasa, capital city of southwest China's Tibet, remain open during the Spring Festival and Tibetan New Year holiday, while students and their parents will choose to read their favorite books or buy the book they need there, making reading fashionable in the city.

In recent years, Lhasa has effectively solved people's difficulty in borrowing, reading and using books through establishing reading rooms in rural areas and temples.

"I often come to buy magazines, and I can get the newspapers I like when I go outside, it’s much more convenient than before, " said Dorje Tsering, a native of Lhasa.
