Meeting held in Tibet to convey the spirit of the 7th plenum of the 18th CPC Central Committee

A meeting was held recently in southwest China’s Tibet autonomous region (TAR) to convey the spirit of the 7th plenum of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The meeting was presided over by Wu Yingjie, secretary of the CPC Tibet autonomous region Committee. The meeting pointed out that over the past five years China has achieved great success in society development and anti-corruption work. Tibet has also made progress in various fields related to economic and social development, the well-being of  people,  and the poverty alleviation work.

The meeting said that these achievements stem from the leadership of the central government and the selfless support from people of the whole country.  In the future we must do a good job in opposing separation, maintaining unification of the motherland, strengthening national unity, improving the people’s livelihoods and other work.

The meeting  fully affirmed the poverty alleviation work in Tibet and stressed that the specific requirements proposed once again by President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang must be fully implemented.

The meeting demanded that poverty alleviation work and development must remain people-focused, taking the beautiful life that people longing for as the objective, and targeted poverty alleviation and specific support policies adapting to local conditions should be carried out to improve the pertinence and effectiveness of poverty alleviation work.  

The meeting also proposed requirements for  officials and asked that poverty alleviation results must stand the test of time and people. Those who involved in embezzling or illegally occupying funds and those who not perform his/her duties properly in poverty alleviation work would be severely punished.
