Tibet’s Xiajiaka substation put into operation

Recently, Tibet’s 110kV Xiajiaka substation went into operation, which greatly improved the safety, reliability and economy of power supply in New District, Chamdo and provided a significant boost to Chamdo’s efforts in build a moderately prosperous society in all aspects. 

The 110kV Xiajiaka substation began construction on Aug. 15, 2015.

Total investment for the project was 47.2 million yuan(6.7 million us dollars), which included two new main transformers with a total capacity of 80,000 KVA. 

There are currently more than 240 registered companies in Tibet’s Chamdo New District, of which more than 40 arrived this year and the only existing 35kV substation is already running at full capacity.

The operation of Tibet’s 110KV Xiajiaka substation will meet the electricity requirements of existing and future enterprises, and will ensure a safe and reliable supply of electricity to Chamdo New District.

At the same time, the substation will also provide the Lancang River substation with a reliable power supply, and a greater guarantee for future large-scale “outbound electricity transmission” in Tibet.
