The “loneliest” coffee house in the world

At the summit of Dagu Glacier at an altitude of 4860 meters, sits the world’s highest coffee house which has also been proclaimed by netizens as the world’s “most lonely” coffee house.

This coffee house was established in June, 2015 and went into use in October. All of the materials for construction were sent up using a cable car. The coffee house is at the summit of the mountain on the second floor of the cable car station. It boasts glass windows with tremendous views with the view of lofty snow capped peaks resting in your eyes as you look out.

In order to allow visitors to have a more comfortable experience, the coffee house has oxygen equipment installed offering a pressurized atmosphere to visitors. This gives visitors a chance to rest that are not accustomed to the high altitude conditions.

The heating system keeps the coffee house warm at all times, and no matter whether it is 20 degrees celsius below zero in the winter or 4 degrees celsius in the summer visitors will feel warm at all times, and can enjoy a drink of coffee while looking at the mountains.

Dagu Glacier is located in the Heishui county,belongs to the Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan province. The area has the world’s lowest altitude large scale as well as youngest modern glacier.
