China Tibeyannet  The Soinam Targyai Center for Environmental Education was established in April 2003, named after Soinam Targyai, the first defense captain against poachers who was gunned down in 1994 in Ke Ke Xi Li by 18 poachers who killed and stripped the Tibetan antelope of its wool, also known as "shahtoosh".
The Center attaches importance to carrying out education of environmental protection for schoolteachers and students on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
