China Tibetannet Main propagative places of Tibetan antelope were found through 18-year ecological research by Chinese wild animal experts.

"From late June to the early July, it's the propagation period of Tibetan antelope. The baby antelopes are given birth on the places 4,600 meters to 5,200 meters above sea level. We can see mass female Tibetan antelopes assembling at plain and lake zones with abundant food." said Liu Wulin, a former head of a Tibetan research institute of forestry who undertakes this research.
Liu said that, total area of Tibetan antelope propagative places reached 27,656 sq.km, distributing in 9 counties on Qinghai-Tibet plateau.
"Female antelope meets its first pregnancy when 1.5 or 2.5 years old, and gives birth to one baby at the age of 2 or 3. From southeast to southwest, the parturition times are one week different." told by Liu.
Tibetan antelopes had faced a depopulation caused by mass butcher for getting their rare cashmere, the raw material of shahtoosh. Thanks to the powerful protection both by the state government and folk organizations, a lasted statistics indicates that, the population of Tibetan antelope in Tibet resumes 150,000.
