Altiplano railway operation heartens Nepalese Photos
Author:     Source: China Tibet Information Center

( July-4 Tuesday )

Hoping the sky railway can stretch across Himalayas, the operation of Qinghai-Tibet Railway in China heartened people living at the other side of Himalayas, Nepal.
Three main English papers in Nepal, "Kathmandu Post", "Rising Nepal" and "Himalayas Times" featured reports of the operation of Qinghai-Tibet Railway matched with photos July 2.
Some research organizations high on discussing the relationship between this railway and Nepal. The railway operation becomes a pop topic to talk with Chinese reporters among Nepalese.Circled by Himalayas, Nepal is an inland country lying on the auto-loaded material importation. The pinch of living materials and weak industry cause the desire of an advent of a railway which can take the nation to the broadway. It's even another audacious assumption that, Nepal may be the trade channel between China and India.
Nepalese experts thought that, a supposed railway linking China and India spanning Himalayas passing Nepal would benefit three countries.
Currently, at least 11 joints are on the border of Nepal and China's TAR, some have already connected by roads and some will see the road building. In the past 5 years, big changes have taken place in the areas on the 11 joints along over 1,000 km borderline, a potential economic prosperity can be found through the increasing investment inpouring in.
