Tibetan snooker

On July 12, the 12th Games of the Tibet Autonomous Region and the Fourth Traditional Sports Games were undergoing in the region's capital city Lhasa. Gyiren is one of the competitions: its rules are similar to snooker, therefore people call this century-old folk game "Tibetan snooker". Gyiren's cue ball is called anze, and the game balls are divided into black and white with nine for each side.

In addition, there is also a game called do-marpo (red stone or red ball). The do-marpo must be hit after at least one game ball has been scored. This fun and skillful folk game is an active part of people's lives in Tibet, and it is now listed as a National Ethnic Minority Traditional Sport.
