Epic drama Princess Wencheng IV to be staged soon

The epic drama Princess Wencheng IV will formally begin on Apr. 20, and the preliminary rehearsal is ongoing, China Tibet News reported.

According to the project leader, the upcoming show will not have big changes in content and duration, and the highlights will still lie in the upgraded special effects, choreography, lighting and other aspects so as to ensure continuous improvement in the performance quality.

“A one-month rehearsal from Mar. 15 is required for actors. They have a rehearsal for six to eight hours every day,” said a supervisor on the spot.

Since its debut in August 2013, the epic drama Princess Wencheng has won extensive attentions. At present, it has become a must for some tourists to appreciate the epic drama.

With the expanding brand effect of this epic drama, its derivative projects have also been launched successively. Last May, Princess Wencheng Tsechokling Tibetan Style Street was formally opened to the public, with integrated functions of folk culture exhibition, performance of traditional songs and dances, sightseeing, leisure, accommodation and production and sales of ethnic handicrafts.

The project leader also said that the company will improve the commercial street, the intangible cultural heritage experience park and the indoor stage play Princess Jincheng this year to provide more services for tourists and audience in the park.
