China Tibetannet More than 100,000 farmers and herders in Nagqu have benefited from the education and training supported by Nagqu militaries for ten years.
A special organization aiming at providing educational funds and training classes for locals was established by the Nagqu military department in 1997. For near 10 years, over 1 million yuan (about 125,000 US dollars) has been collected and used to help 13,000 rural Tibetans get rid of illiteracy and 370 children realize the dreams of study.
In addition, against the nomadic life of local herders, floating schools named "tent school' or "horse school" are set to ensure available basic education for children at school age. The militaries also set up two schools in Zhongcang Village and Ya Village in Nagqu. |
